ATTENTION: Effective immediately, due to COVID emergencies only, partial hospital closure!
We wanted to send a message to the entire Coventry Animal Hospital family with some difficult news. We've been doing our best to navigate our animal hospital during Covid for the past year, trying to manage the health and well being of our staff, along with the health and well being of all of our patients and their people parents. It's been a bit of a challenge, to say the least, and unfortunately the virus has caught up to our hospital with 2 of our staff members testing positive over the past week. Thankfully, both are still relatively healthy and we are hoping they're back to work after the appropriate quarantine. Our entire staff was tested on Monday, 1/25/21, with overall good results to this point. And while we may be able to continue "business as usual," we've decided that's not in the best interest of our staff in our continued attempts to keep everyone healthy and safe. So as of Tuesday, 1/26/21, we will be reducing our staff numbers significantly and working as "pods" to keep exposure amongst staff to a minimum.
The reason we are posting this information is that we are going to be cancelling and rescheduling ALL of our wellness appointments and non-emergent cases for this week, the week of 1/25/21. We are doing our best to make phone calls to everyone that has an appointment this week and will try to get that done in as timely a fashion as possible. We ask if you read this message and have a wellness appointment scheduled for this week, please stay home and hold tight until we contact you. We realize, of course, that these appointments need to be rescheduled, but we may hold off on that process until we know for sure what the next 1-2 weeks will look like. We will still have a doctor and technicians on staff every day this week to see sick patients and emergencies, so PLEASE call if you're concerned that your pet is ill and needs veterinary attention. We are keeping the hospital open in order to care for these sick pets specifically. But we hope you can be understanding and patient with us as we go through the difficult task at hand of re-organizing our already busy appointment schedule.
We took a great deal of time in making this decision and while it is very difficult for us to do, we feel that it is best for our entire team to go this route. We know it will be an inconvenience for many of our pet parents out there, and we appreciate your patience and understanding over the next few weeks as we sort through our scheduling. We will do everything in our power to see all of our appointments in a timely manner, and we will work with you anyway we can to keep your pets happy and healthy and minimize upheaval in your lives to the best of our abilities.
